Ellicott City Family Wall Galleries

I don't often have the chance to photograph families with teenagers, but look, teenagers can also have a lot of fun at a photoshoot!!!

I did try to ask a lot of questions at the consultation appointment with the mom. I want to know what their kids love to do, their personalities, are the kids best friends? Are you guys huggers? How are their relationships with their father? How are their relationships with the mom... Asked a bunch of questions give me a sense of familiarity toward this new family even without meeting the rest of the family in advance. And it surely helped me come up with the storyline I set for this sweet family's photoshoot.

When I approached the family at the parking, the kids were really sweet, sending me a little shy but bright smile that showed off their beautiful teeth (Ugh I wish I had teeth like them). We greeted at each other trying to warm up for the show a little bit. Then Mom got out of the car as well with dad following along. I know this was going to be a successful session because everyone looked sweet and happy. :-) My goal for every photoshoot is always to catch the genuine smiles and real interactions in the family. This one has no exception. At times, the boys would feel a little embarrassed when you started to guide them toward the photo spot and to get everyone ready. I know. I could smell the awkwardness, but trust me, that is absolutely normal at any photoshoot and with just a little "shaking off" trick of me, we could easily break the ice and bring out the real smiles. As I always explain to families, when it comes to creating portraits for wall decoration, simplistic clean look are always the best style to give your room the personality that belongs to your own family but without overwhelming the space. And how the light touches on the family's faces enhanced the softness even more. Their pictures just made me so happy throughout the whole editing process.The beautiful looks, smiles and the outfits made this session absolutely one of the best.
